Indian Designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee, known for his unique yet simple design philosophy, “Personalised imperfection of the human hand to make clothes that are an extension of one’s intellect”, showcased his mesmerising Collection at the WIFW Grand Finale, New Delhi on 10th April , 2011.
Sabyasachi enthralled the audiences with an ensemble that was inspired by many of Sabyascachi’s favourite subjects- art, music and films that are mostly rooted in India’s rich cultural heritage.
The designer commenced his extravagant collection with a magnetic ambience that was created with an elaborate set of jazz bar and college street with stacks of books. The all black wooden ramp was bedecked with colourful bulbs that created the right mood for his Collection.
Mukherjee added a vibrant touch to his ecstatic collection with the presence of live music by singer Kiya who of had especially flown in from London.
His Ensemble marked a splendid tribute to contemporary & classic fashion. The models wore garments that were well embellished with texturing and patch work among other surface techniques.
The Collection had an enchanting effect with perfectly styled models that adorned rimless glasses with a subtle make-up.
Sabyasachi concluded the show with the extremely talented and stunning actress Vidya Balan walking the ramp for him in one of his creations. Vidya looked gorgeous in a lemon yellow sari with elegantly textured border all over.
