TALENT BOX

August 19, 2011:
Prashant and Sudha Goregaonkar is a designer label showcasing a collection which is unapologetically beautiful as it is flamboyant and being all about a festive mood this season. The designers known for their high luxury couture, prêt, trousseaux treated the audience to a mix of dresses, gowns as well as traditional Indian wear at the Talent Box show. Although designed keeping the commercial aspect in mind, this duo didn’t hold back on anything, creating elegant pieces which can be mixed and matched; which was a refreshing twist to Indo-Western wear with unique concepts such as using jackets instead of churidars. Beautiful fabrics like Indian Chanderi, silk and satin took on gorgeous forms with asymmetric cuts accompanying the designers’ skill at playing with textures, pleats, lengths and flairs. Embellished with fringe work, sequins, beads and bright stones the embroidery was reminiscent of fireworks on shades of red, brown and white fabric. Saris with large, dazzling hand embroidered borders, sparkling brooches and cholis with low cut backs were sensual and splendid. The creative pair worked with traditional Indian prints, keeping it simple and focusing on the detailing of the outfits by introducing shots of green, gold, silver, burgundy and purple.

ADITYA KHANDELWAL SHOWED GREAT FASHION FOR THE WINTER/FESTIVE 2011 SEASON AT THE TALENT BOX
Aditya Kandelwal’s collection made good use of earthy colours such as brown, white, ivory and nude shades gave his creations a mellow feel although the eco-friendly, hand-woven fabrics such as pure silk and bamboo silk were finely embellished with gold threads. If that wasn’t enough, some designs were made in hounds tooth silk, which is a rare fabric. His collection portrayed his talent for playing with Indian fabrics as well as traditional Indian designs, themes and embroideries; transferring their beauty onto western silhouettes.  It’s safe to say that this particular collection by Aditya Khandelwal will really stand out as a brilliant fusion between ‘traditional East’ meeting ‘West’.
