Fashion Week for JAIPUR announced

Jaipur, Rajasthan, India - A press conference held on 10 August, 2010, at The Grand, saw the unveiling of the designers and sponsors for the Blenders Pride Jaipur International Fashion Week (BPJIFW).

The SFC team and advisors to BPJIFW - Gaurav Sharma, CE0, SFC - India, Atul Pandey, partner, Designer Rahul Jain, advisor, Designer Puneet Nanda, advisor and BPJIFW - show director Liza Varma were present to launch the first edition of Blenders Pride Jaipur International Fashion Week.

Film actress, Anjana Sukhani, has been chosen as the Brand Ambassador for BPJIFW. She was present to lend support and celebrate the launch of the most awaited fashion week to hit Jaipur this September!

BPJIFW Festive Winter’10 which will be held from 15th September to 19th September 2010 at Hotel Clarks Amer , Jaipur will witness 25 Indian and 3 international designers and 12 major corporates as sponsors, come together to set new trends in fashion and business in the pink city!

BPJIFW endeavours to promote, support and nurture an enigmatic list of budding designers along with collections of established designers who have shown on Indian as well as international runways and have made a mark or created a spark in the industry!

Five new young designers will debut the ramp for the ‘New Designer’ category along with 10 ‘Emerging Designers’, three international designers and 10 established Indian designers.

BPJIFW will have a grand opening with mesmerizing collections showcased by designer duo RAHUL AND GUNJAN, with Anjana Sukhani walking for them as the show stopper.

During their prime, the presence of massive hand painted billboards outside cinema theater halls delivered an unforgettable visual treat, pushing the definition of Bollwood film poster art beyond advertising, and metamorphosing it into a cultural icon instead. With the new generation of artists not seeing value in picking up the trade, this magical art form is now at risk of being thrown into oblivion forever.

Mumbai based Fashion label Indian Hippy aims to change that and bring the old back in vogue. In december 2009 it announced the launch of its innovative line of exclusive fashion and lifestyle products. The art remains the same - only the canvas reduced from posters and giant billboards to fashion and lifestyle products. Bollywood film poster artists of yesteryear’s who have invested several months of effort into perfecting the painstaking process of hand painting film poster designs on small products such as wallets, belts, clutch purses and handbags.
