Tucked away in the coziest corner of the Amazon lies a little country called Suriname. It is bordered by Brazil to the south, Guyana to the west and French-Guyana to the East. The northern border is a great body of water known as the Atlantic Ocean. Suriname, or ‘Sranan’ as the locals refer to it, will be the host of the Miss India Worldwide Pageant 2012. Forty-two beauties, from as many countries, of Indian decent will embark on a journey with the same mission – to win the highly-coveted Miss India Worldwide 2012 crown started by IFC, New York over 20 years ago which is held at different host country every year.

For the first time in the Caribbean the twenty first Miss India Worldwide 2012 will be held in Paramaribo, Suriname on 25 Febuary 2012.  To honour the pageant the president of the Republic of Suriname, His Excellency, DESIRE DELANO BOUTERSE, has declared Febuarary 25 a public holiday. Continue

Jewellery designer, Pallavi Foley presented her collection “Organzo Curves” at the  India International Jewellery Week (IIJW) finale on the 3rd of August 2011. The collection which was about modern sculptures in 18k yellow gold is a tribute to the modern woman. Handcrafted to perfection, the collection conveys- ‘Be beautiful, be edgy and most of all be yourself’. Out of the 26 countries which performed at the Miss India Worldwide 2011 in Dubai, Farzana Parveen, representing UAE, fusion dance was probably the best performance.

The top 10 contestants on the final night on 14 May had to perform the talent again in front of the judges. Farzana made it to the top 5 on the final night.

19 years old ANKITA GHAZAN, Miss India Australia 2011 from Sydney, Australia was judged the 20th Miss India Worldwide 2011 0n saturday 14 May at the Emirates Place Hotel in Abu Dhabi. After 3 consecutive years being hosted in South Africa, twice of which in Durban, this time Miss India Worldwide is being held in the Middle East for the first time.

This year is celebrating the twentieth anniversary of Miss India Worldwide, a talent oriented pageant for women of Indian origin residing all over the world.

The Talent Night was celebrated on 12 May in Dubai at the Crowne Plaza Hotel with a cross section of talent performances ranging from Bharat Natyam to Karate, Singing to flute playing. It was a true representaion of multi talented Indian women from all around the world.
