Miss Universe 2010 Ximena Navarette of Mexico inaugurated Asian Academy of Arts on 5 February 2011 at Marwah Studios in Film City, Noida, India. Fashion designer Sanjana Jon was the guest of honor.

Navarette along with Jon is touring India as a part of a Global promotion exercise for social causes like saving the girl child among others. She will, in the process of promoting the cause of Miss Universe.

For the past decade, India has become the favorite for global brands. Almost every month either a new global brand or a product launch of a global brand is being introduced in the Indian market. The store was inaugurated by the stunning and elegant Bollywood actress and socialite Karishma Kapoor along with the President of Giorgetti S.p.A, Mr. Carlo Giorgetti and Ms. Heena Kalantri, Founder, M concepts - the company behind the brands entry into India.

November 22, 2009, London: Genesis Colors brought to London its finest designers - Satya Paul and Deepika Gehani, to showcase their Fall Winter 09 collections at the delightful Mint Leaf Restaurant & Bar, in Haymarket.

Celebrating 25 years of globally acclaimed excellence in design, Satya Paul presents the latest in its exquisite line for Autumn Winter 09 - ‘Maya’.

Maya is illusion. The inspiration behind the Maya collection is this ‘illusory’ world. This illusory life is portrayed by the use of colors on the fabric as if refracted through a prism.

Maya is all about color! It is Satya Paul’s way to court glamour and fantasy in the form of colorful patterns on saris and garments. With a deft, use of pattern and color, a beautiful collection of easy to wear pieces make up Maya… ornamental designs, layers, shadows and contrasting elements render Maya a bold graphic look.

The beautiful models from Caramel adorning sophisticated jewellery by Kyle will adorn the exquisite creations by these two famous Indian designers.

This is what Jacqueline Fernandes had to say for her association with the show.

“My association with Satya Paul and Deepika Gehani is an old one. I have shot many campaigns for the two design labels and their support has been great. It gives me great pleasure to adorn their exquisite collections once again and walk the ramp for them here in London.”

The event was well attended by the well known faces of London such as Jeannette Chang of Hearst Magazines International, Hiro and Radhika Harjani of Aftershock, Dr Madhup Mohta with his family from the High Commission of India, Emilio Foa and Carmela of Burberry author Kavita Ramdya and Sanjay Hinduja to name a few.

Author Kavita Ramdya also had a soft launch of her book “Bollywood Weddings”.

Speaking on the occasion Managing Director, Genesis Colors, Sanjay Kapoor said “It is a pleasure to be back in London. Our association with London and Mint Leaf goes back a long way. Bringing two of our top designers to London once again is our endeavour to establish the high standards of Genesis Colors to the international market”

CELEBRATING 10 years - Special event on 18th September 2009, Mumbai

This unique show took us on a journey that travels from ‘Then‘ to ‘Now‘ culminating into ‘Forever‘. Participating in this show were 20 Lakmé Grand Finale designers from the past. The ramp will witness exquisite creations of Aki Narula, Anamika Khanna, Anshu Jason, Arjun Khanna, Bobby and Manju Grover, JJ Valaya, Malini Ramani, Manish Malhotra, Monapali, Monisha Jaisingh, Narendra Kumar, Raghavendra Rathore, Rajesh Pratap Singh, Rina Dhaka, Ritu Beri, Rohit Bal, Sabyasachi, Suneet Varma, Tarun Tahiliani and Varun Bahl.

Lakme Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2010 was held on 18th to 22nd September’09 at Hotel Grand Hyatt, Mumbai.

Beautiful women from 24 countries were united in Durban in February 2009 to compete for the Miss India Worldwide pageant. Continue
